Why Blog?

My blogging origins actually started with personal blogs.  My wife and I adopted a precious little girl from South Korea in 2010, and I have maintained a blog before and during the adoption process.  I still keep that blog running so friends and family can keep track of our family, even though there is very little about adoption in there, just a family of three and a pretty dog living life together.  If you're interested in that story, let me know, and I can give you the address and password.

In the summer of 2011, I started a new job at a new school.  I had been teaching for 17 years, but I changed schools and walked into a school with an iPad initiative.  I realized that teaching as I knew it was about to change and I wanted to gather as much information as possible.  I got a Twitter account and started following other teachers who had more experience in technology integration.  I started reading other blogs and getting new ideas.

Then, it hit me.  Information runs two ways.  I'm learning from others.  I'm learning as I try new things in my classroom.  I need to share what I'm learning with the educational community too.   So, what you have is a smattering of information on a variety of topics of things I've learned or things I think or things I've experienced.  This is my attempt to give back to the online community as you have given to me.

Please, feel free to follow my blog and share it with your friends.  I'm happy to add to the online discussion.
